Waiting

The evidence has been entered and arguments made. I need sleep. Waiting now, for the verdict. Hold on Sugar Bear, Daddy will be home tomorrow for the big weekend.

Stormy
I got home too late tonight to put you to bed. Like your Mommy said, I was helping the animals. But I saw the storm. What may have caused you to turn and sigh through your little girl sheets I watched unfold from the porch. The rain, at first threatening, then as it settled in, welcome, rained down on our little hamlet, caught in Nature's paparazzi, lightening, and came down.

I've been so busy--not too busy for you I'd like to think but you may disagree. You see my Sugarbear--I'm caught between the rain and the lightening--and the rain falls down. On sinners and saved alike.

I know you missed Mommy and Daddy when we went to our "meeting." You are getting so big. You question why Daddy isn't wearing his "play clothes," and sometimes I question it too. Just know now that Mommy & Daddy's big trip included seeing Steely Dan and doing things mommies and daddies do (You'll understand hopefully one day when you find your special someone--who likes Steely Dan.)

And understand Daddy is with you every step of the way--even when the way is unclear.

So the storm subsides. But everyone is still scared. Let's you and me ride the ferris wheel again, this time in the orange seats. Let's fly up like a bird, and drop on the big wheel but you're not afraid. Let's soar and drop--watching the clouds form that separate between the rain and the lightening.

And know I'll keep walking beside you, until you -- I can't even think to say it--don't even need me...I'll love you still.
